During the school year, Mondays are my absolute least favorite days, not so during the summer! I love summer Mondays because they mean I am linking up with 4th grade frolics for Monday made it!
This week, I am focused on my new Heidi Swapp lightbox!
I absolutely adore this lightbox and am already having so much fun with it, but I did run into a snag: keeping the letter/icon inserts organized.
I want to be able to find what I need relatively quickly, so digging through a box to find the letters I need is just not going to cut it. Then I had an idea...
Enter: the lightbox insert binder!
I started with these photo/coupon pocket pages that are made for 3-ring binders and a 1.5 inch binder.
Each letter has its own pocket. Right now, I have two different kinds of letters in the same pocket, but I may change that in the future. I also split up the icons into categories (smiley emojis, clothing, food, etc.)
The washi tape doesn't serve a purpose other than fancying it up a bit. :)
Here's where the freebie comes in- I made binder covers and spines (for 1 inch, 1.5 inch, and 2 inch binders) in 10 different colors! You can grab your freebie here.
That's it for this made-it. I'm already working on some fun and colorful projects for next week... I think they are going to be really cute!
Let me know what you think in the comments and make sure to check out all of the other awesome made-its at 4th grade frolics!
I haven't made the Light Box leap...yet, but I will definitely use your binder technique when I finally do! Thanks for the freebie and idea!

Perfect idea! I was thinking the same thing! I want to make weekly objectives for math and ELA, and I was thinking of keeping those inside my math and ELA binders. We can get a little carried away, so organization is a must for these things! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I just made some LightBox quotes this past weekend and was searching for a way to save them without them getting bent. Mine are slightly larger (PowerPoint strips) but you are giving me some new ways to think about storage for them! Thanks so much.
